What You Need to Complete the FAFSA:

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is used to apply for grants, scholarships, work-study, and loans. To complete it smoothly, have the following ready

Before You Start

  • Create an FSA ID for you and any required contributors.

  • Gather needed documents ahead of time.

  • Know your deadlines—many states award aid on a first-come, first-served basis.

Required Information

  • Student & Contributor Information

    • Social Security numbers

    • Alien Registration number (if applicable)

    • Driver’s license or state ID number

  • Financial Information

    • Federal tax returns (or consent to transfer data)

    • Records of untaxed income

    • Child support received

    • Current bank balances

    • Investment and business net worth

  • Other

    • List of colleges you plan to apply to

Request Your Transcript

Official Transcripts are Sent Digitally -

Directly to Colleges through Parchment.

Create a Parchment Account with your personal email. 

 

1) Establish Mishawaka as your home school. 

2) Click Send Transcript, then select colleges to receive your official MHS transcripts for free.

3) Select self-view to download a copy of your transcript for personal view.

Types of Financial Aid

Apply, Apply, Apply!

1) Community Scholarships:

  • Organized by monthly deadlines.  Check back often for on-going updates!

2) College-Specific Early Application Awards:

  • Apply before Nov 1 to your college of interest to be eligible to receive their in-house awards.

3) Merit-Based Scholarships:

  • Awarded by the post-secondary institution based on the student's skills or academic accomplishments.

 

4) Need-Based Scholarships:

  • Determined by students' financial situation and household income as reported to FAFSA.

5) Mishawaka High School & Alumni Scholarships: 

  • Application info provided by Principal after March 1st.

Indiana 21st Century Scholars

 

Are you a 21st Century Scholar?

Log-in to your ScholarTrack account and confirm your status.

Take Responsibility to Stay on Track!  Student Modules

In order to earn the 21st Century Scholarship, a student must graduate with a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, earn a Core 40 diploma or higher, and complete the Scholar Success program, including filing the FAFSA on time.

Applications for this Indiana Scholarship is based on family income eligibility guidelines and must have been submitted before June 30 of the eligible student's 8th-grade year.

  • Work Based Learning and Co-op are available to students who are completing their Pathway and employed in a job related to their Pathway.

    • Students in good academic standing must provide employment verfication as part of their application at the start of the school year
